Friend
I came home from the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow with renewed clarity on the role state and local leaders can -- and must -- play in the fight against the climate crisis.
I went to COP26 to meet with leaders from around the globe, with a coalition of 68 state, regional, and city governments. We're committed to cutting our emissions in half by 2030 -- and getting to net zero by mid-century.
Now that I'm home, I'm ready to give it my all, fighting for the future of our species. But I'll need your help to get this crucial work done. Are you in?
Before our end-of-month fundraising deadline on November 30 at midnight, will you chip in $10 right now, so we can build our movement to avert climate disaster: [link removed]
Since I returned from COP26, I've responded to the destructive impact of Northwest Washington being hit by devastating storms that caused horrific flooding and mudslides.
These dangerous and increasingly frequent severe weather events are just more previews of the disaster movie come-to-life if we don't take bold action to prevent all-out climate disaster.
There's no time to waste. We must meet this moment with imagination, optimism, and action. With the stakes as high as they are, I'm counting on you, friend.
Chip in $10 before our end-of-month deadline, so we can build our movement to meet this make-or-break moment with imagination and optimism.
We have five years left to protect our shared future. Let's go.
Very truly yours,
Jay
