------------------------------------------------------------

Mayor Cantrell has a clear vision for what New Orleans needs from its City Council. We need to focus on what each individual councilperson brings to the table, to create our best team possible. That's why she's endorsing Jay Banks, Freddie King, and Troy Glover for the December 11th runoff. Each of these men is a proven leader who brings unique strengths to the table.
JAY H. BANKS (B) - Battle tested leadership who has delivered hundreds of millions for streets and drainage.

FREDDIE KING, III (C) - Proven to bring the community to the table and make sure the work reflects the people's priorities.

TROY GLOVER (D) - Brings fresh ideas to push the Council forward. Troy is the future of our city.

Early voting is Nov. 27 through Dec. 4 (excluding Sunday, Nov. 28) from 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m.[link removed] a location. ([link removed])
"My own Councilmember, Jay H. Banks is the battle-tested leader we need to continue getting resources for our city. He will bring the statesmanship and knowledge we need to a fresh Council.

Jay has worked with me to pass an unprecedented budget that guides our city out of the pandemic, secured hundreds of millions to rehabilitate our sewerage system, and handled more land use items than any other council member. Continued collaboration is key to moving progress forward. Vote Jay H. Banks in B.”
"I'm supporting Freddie King, III for City Council District C because he is rooted in our community. I know that personally. He works in the trenches and understands the issues that matter. Freddie knows constituent services and knows that you have to be responsive to the people you serve. He is a man of faith, and a family man. Join me in supporting Freddie King for City Council District C on December 11 — because Freddie is ready."

"Troy Glover has demonstrated his commitment to community, housing, and supporting our juveniles so they can truly develop into leaders. He has hosted gun buybacks, helped pass juvenile justice reform legislation at the Louisiana Legislature, and now is helping to employ people returning to society while cleaning up blight. Troy is the future. I’m proud to support him — a fellow neighborhood leader. Please vote Troy Glover for City Council District D."

The time is now. What we do for the next 3 - 5 years emerging from the pandemic will affect New Orleanians for generations to come. And these three candidates know all too well the critical struggles faced by Black males nationwide right now -- high unemployment, discrimination, risk of system involvement, violence, and depression. Their leadership will bring the change we need.
