Listening to Women from Mozambique
A Voices From the Field production of UMW
On Monday, December 6, at 9 a.m., meet the United Methodist Women’s Regional Missionary Catherine Akale and the Mozambique Country Teams from three Annual Conferences: Rev. Sebastiao Alzira Isaac Machauene (North Annual Conference), Rev. Adelina Chilundo Roberto (South Annual Conference) and Rev. Quiteria Alacane Muhota (Southeast Annual Conference). The speakers will talk about their current work priorities and recount the challenges of the pandemic. They will share a real-life story of how the fish farm project fights poverty and improves food and nutrition security in a country where over 80% of the population lives on less than $2 a day; and they will showcase other livelihood programs supported by United Methodist Women. The speakers will also describe how the Training for Transformation provides new skills and opens new opportunities for young women. An optional breakout session will follow the one-hour program.
