South Dakota Supreme Court Rules Recreational Marijuana Unconstitutional
(Alexandria, VA) - Today, the South Dakota Supreme Court ruled that a 2020 ballot initiative legalizing marijuana is unconstitutional.

Dr. Kevin Sabet, president of Smart Approaches to Marijuana (SAM) released the following statement in response:

"Today, South Dakota promoted science and struck down corporate greed. Big Pot spent millions from dark money groups to try and sway South Dakota and manipulate our justice system by putting forth an unconstitutional initiative. This verdict is a win for public health and safety and our system of checks and balances."
