November is National Native American Heritage Month
Hey there,
November is National Native American Heritage Month, a time to celebrate the rich history, contributions, and achievements of the Indigenous peoples of the United States.
Here in Wisconsin, Indigenous tribes have been stewards of the land, protectors of water and natural resources, and keepers of sacred traditions, languages, cultures, and food systems since long before European colonizers claimed this land as their own.
As we approach Thanksgiving — a holiday whose history we must reconcile with the historical realities of colonization and white supremacy — it’s critical that we take a moment to learn what tribes originally inhabited the land we stand on today, and how we can honor them moving forward.
It’s time for a new kind of leadership in Wisconsin. Gillian built her career on integrity, advocacy, and action, and she’s ready to put that skill set to work in the U.S. Senate! It's going to take all of us working together to defeat Ron Johnson to get her there, but if you'd like to receive fewer emails, we understand.
