Find out how we are changing the community in 2021

Dear John,

Human trafficking is such a challenging issue to try and prevent. Two-thirds of people have some form of housing instability, the other third is impacted by behavioral health. What's more is it's driven by demand. Demand for commercial sex and demand for cheap products. Last year the unmet needs in our community combined with an increased demand for commercial sex resulted in a 167.5% increase in domestic minor sex trafficking in King County. Why?

People still think purchasing sex and watching porn is harmless.

I think it's important for you to know about the amazing work WTP has accomplished. Many people aren't aware that WTP has a VERY small team of three dedicated staff that accomplish an impressive amount of change within Washington. I'm so grateful for both Tiffany and Cammy for their hard work and dedication.

Our key highlights (so far) in 2021:
* Reached 1,520 people through our prevention programs
* Launched 3 new programs:
+ Empowered Employment Program
+ Serving Survivors of CSE
+ Empowered U
* Created the Family Technology Agreement for Parents and Caregivers to increase online safety
* Developed the WTP Human Trafficking Screening Tool for all types of sex trafficking

My hope is that you will get involved with the work we are doing, and help us make a bigger impact in the months and years to come. The biggest need we have is to increase our staffing capacity in 2022. If we can accomplish all of this during a pandemic and a micro team, imagine what we could do together?
