Friends,
Election Day is five days away! Do you have a plan? In-person absentee voting ends this Saturday at 5:00pm at the Fairfax Government Center and all satellite locations. See below for details.

Be sure to scroll down for information about Election Night Watch Parties hosted by the Fairfax County Democratic Committee and the Fairfax Young Democrats. These are FREE events however registration is requested.

A very special thank you to all of the #Fighting4Fairfax canvassers, absentee chase envelope stuffers, phonebankers and canvass launch hosts. And, a special shout out to Jeremy Cullimore, our #Fighting4Fairfax campaign director, and his team of field organizers, Bill Duffield, Henry Pratt and Thomas Vivero.

It goes without saying, but we choose to spend our volunteer hours because we have fifty-three (53!) dedicated, professional Democrats on our Fairfax County ballots this year, all of whom represent our Democratic values.

Reminder: "Fall Back" this Sunday morning. Set back your non-automatic timepieces one hour as we return to Eastern Standard Time.

For a complete listing of events or to add your own event, visit our Calendar.

There's a right way and a couple of wrong ways to be an effective Election Day poll greeter

Be proactive, be friendly and be informative! Move around (but don't block voters) and keep your eyes off your mobile phone.

The key mantra this year is "There are thirteen Democrats on your ballot however eleven of them don't have a "D" next to their name and please be sure to turnover your ballot to complete your vote."

Volunteer for a shift on Election Day

Serving as a poll greeter is a critical job, especially in 2019! Getting our sample ballot into the hands of all the voters is crucial to them voting the entire Democratic ticket.

Kamala Harris stumps for Kathy Tran and Dan Helmer in No. Va.

[Excerpt from The Blue View article by Springfield Democrat, Susan Laume.]

Speaking of Del. Tran, [presidential candidate Sen. Kamala Harris (D- Cal.)] said, “Recognize her story and who she is. She’s had more determination, more courage — and she’s one of the strongest leaders we have.” Harris praised Tran for the “huge fights” she’s undertaken, particularly for the women of Virginia. The Tran event was held at the home of Tilly Blanding, who was Tran’s Democratic primary election opponent in the 2017 race for the District 42 seat. Blanding inspired the crowd to join her in song, with a call to rally together, as the event ended and canvassing teams set off.
