Next week, Virginia will play host to the largest statewide elections of the year.

There’s a lot on the line, John. With anti-abortion zealots zeroing in on access to abortion care, the work to ensure that abortion care remains safe, legal, and accessible is more crucial than ever, particularly on the state and local levels.

In 2017, the Virginia General Assembly came so, so close to flipping to a majority that supports reproductive freedom, and with the 2019 election fast approaching, advocates are seizing the opportunity to finally flip the statehouse this year.

To achieve this, the NIRH Action Fund has proudly partnered with NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia to run a multi-layered campaign in key districts throughout Virginia to educate and turn out pro-choice voters ahead of the November 5th statewide elections.

We’re leaving no stone unturned, John: the electoral program includes direct mail, and a robust ground game including canvassing and phone banking, all revealing the true agenda of anti-abortion candidates and incumbents — to ban abortion, criminalize doctors, and punish women.

It's time to turn the tide, starting with Virginia. Our partnership with NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia exemplifies what we can accomplish when we combine our time, resources, and talents with state and local partners. We’re so excited to use our collective power to drive home a win next week, to ensure that all of us can control our bodies, lives, and futures – in Virginia and beyond.
