Dear John,
2021 is coming to a close soon, and while this year has brought many challenges, we also have a lot to be thankful for. We’re sharing three big items on our gratitude list:
✨YOU. Our democracy depends on all of us, and you continue to show up to vote, volunteer, stay informed, participate, and support our work. Because of you, we were able to keep educating voters on the nuts and bolts of our elections, track the current state of election technology across the country, support risk-limiting audits, push back against internet voting, and so much more. We couldn’t do our work without you, and we’re grateful for your support as we head into the 2022 midterms.
✨ELECTION WORKERS. We’re inspired by the election officials and poll workers who, under intense scrutiny and even threats to their safety, continue their work to administer elections for voters like you. We’ve spent the year sharing stories from election officials to help shine a light on their work, and we’re grateful that we can be there for them with our advice and assistance.
✨PROGRESS. We’ve come a long way in our advocacy for getting voter-verified paper ballots across the map, and we’re encouraged by more and more states and jurisdictions adopting risk-limiting audits. We’ll keep working at all levels to help put best practices in place for the 2022 midterms that give voters justified confidence in our elections.
