AFSCME Family,
We wanted to wish you and your family a happy Thanksgiving. After so many families were kept apart last year because of the pandemic, we hope that you and yours can safely enjoy the holiday together.
AFSCME members spent the year doing what we always do: keeping our communities safe, strong and healthy, no matter what the challenge. And many of our members are essential workers like nurses, EMTs, social workers and many more who will work through the holidays because people rely on the services we provide every day — even holidays.
We have much to celebrate this year. We’re thankful for the many victories we are celebrating across our union. Whether it’s an organizing victory or a new contract or a win for better working conditions, we’ve seen so many workers find their voice in 2021, and we are thankful for the power of solidarity.
But most of all, we are thankful to be a part of this incredible union. The spirit of the AFSCME family lives in each of us every day. Our dedication to our communities and to each other truly keeps America running.
Have a very happy Thanksgiving holiday.
In solidarity,
Lee Saunders
