John,

Last week, the state of Wisconsin decided to protect a violent white
supremacist over the rights and safety of racial justice protestors.

After facing a trial for the murders of Anthony Huber and Joseph
Rosenbaum, and the injury of Gaige Grosskreutz, Kyle Rittenhouse was
declared not guilty and will never face the consequences of his
hate-filled actions.

This acquittal follows a dangerous trend. In the year since Kyle
Rittenhouse murdered Anthony Huber and Joseph Rosenbaum, more than 100
anti-protest bills have been introduced across the county, INCLUDING IN
WISCONSIN.

These bills not only create harsher punishment for protesters, but also
make it easier for people like Kyle Rittenhouse to commit violence against
racial justice protesters and avoid accountability.

With support from Color Of Change members like you, organizers on the
ground were able to block a bill that would have put racial justice
protesters in Wisconsin at further risk.

But the bill may be re-introduced this year.

public commitment to protect racial justice protesters.

After last week's not guilty verdict, the message in Wisconsin and across
the country is even more clear: white supremacists who choose to attack
Black people, and those who stand in solidarity with Black lives, will
face no consequences. And, thanks to anti-protest bills being passed
across the country, the people protesting this unjust verdict could be
arrested and spend longer in jail than Rittenhouse himself. That’s not
right, John.

Make no mistake, from the Kyle Rittenhouse verdict to the nearly 100
anti-protest bills that have been proposed since last year’s uprising for
Black lives, our right to protest racial injustice is under attack, and if
state lawmakers have their way, people who kill protestors will never face
consequences for their actions.

We cannot be silenced John. Civil unrest and protest are
essential tools for our freedom and we will fight to protect them.

[ [link removed] ]This is why we need you to sign our petition and demand Wisconsin
political leaders kill this anti-protest bill and any others like it.
