This work is especially personal to me. I understand the importance of preventing further gun violence because I've lived it. My mother was murdered by a gunman when she answered the door of our home. I lost my best friend and my strongest supporter, and my family was changed forever. I have lived with this epidemic, and I am resolved to stop it from affecting other families. It’s why I’m here, at Brady – why many survivors are at Brady. And together, we're leading this fight. 

But it’s only possible because of you, John — you're a critical part of this fight, that's why I'm asking you to help ramp up our efforts for the most successful Giving Tuesday that Brady has ever had.

I know you recognize the stakes. The gun violence epidemic is more deadly than ever.
