My legal team is widely recognized as one of the smartest and most effective independent watchdogs in the country for a reason: We successfully hold the largest and most powerful corporations and special interests accountable for their actions over and over again.

I'll give you an example. We caught Amazon selling pesticides from its platform as if it were any ordinary home and garden product. These pesticides are bad for our environment and dangerous for consumers. Not surprisingly, they are heavily regulated.

Amazon ignored these regulations and put the health and safety of Washington consumers and our environment at risk. So my office took action.

My office demanded that Amazon adopt corporate reforms and pay $2.5 million to the state of Washington to fund my office's continued work as corporate watchdog.

Today, a court ordered Amazon to do just that.

Our consumer protection work is not funded by the Legislature, the state or Washington taxpayers. And yet, my team is arguably the strongest consumer protection division in the country. We are an efficient, effective public service — and send millions of dollars directly to Washingtonians.

Amazon is a powerful company, but they're not above the law — this victory proves it.

I share these updates on important cases because I know you care about protecting consumers, defending our environment, and holding powerful interests accountable when they break the rules.

Thank you for your support, especially as we head into the fundraising freeze starting December 11th. It means so much to know that I can count on you.

Bob

Starting December 11th — less than a month from now — Washington state law requires a mandatory “freeze” on all fundraising for state elected officials — including Bob. This freeze begins one month before the state legislative session begins and lasts as long as the legislature is in session. In other words, Bob cannot accept any campaign contributions from December 11th until next Spring. We turn off our donation page after midnight on December 10th, 2021 and return any donations that come in the mail — no exceptions!
