We have some good news and some bad news.
The good news is that the House officially passed the Build Back Better Act, which includes the largest investment to combat climate change in U.S. history, lower prescription drug prices, universal Pre-K, the Civilian Climate Corps, and funding for high-speed rail — plus so much more.
The bad news is that with a razor-thin majority in the Senate, just one Democrat opposing BBB would stop it from becoming law.
So, we’re coming to you today to ask for your thoughts on what messages, strategies, and tactics will give us the best chance of passing this bill in the Senate.
Will you take a minute to answer a few questions as part of our Build Back Better Survey? Your input will be a huge help as we figure out our strategy to pass this bill.
If we’ve learned anything from this process, it’s just how vital it is that we expand our majority in the 2022 midterm elections and elect people who are dedicated to helping working people and support policies that will directly impact their lives.
But so many of the policies in this bill – from climate action to lower drug prices – simply can’t wait another year. Working people need relief now, and they need to see that Democrats are able to deliver on our promises.
The more input we get, the more insight we’ll have from the ground about how we can best pressure the Senate to pass this bill once and for all.
