Democratic women will put Val Demings in the Senate and end Marco Rubio's career by turning out in larger numbers than any other demographic in Florida.

That's exactly why MSNBC reports that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis wants to “beef up the state's voting laws,” specifically targeting Democratic women over the age of 60. DeSantis just called for a dedicated police force to “investigate election crimes and fraud,” according to the Associated Press. In reality, this force would disqualify thousands of valid votes from older women who rely on ballot drop-boxes.

Right now, Marco Rubio's team is spreading vicious lies about Val Demings on every Floridian's television in an aggressive new attack ad spread. If Rubio and DeSantis succeed in turning Florida into a one-party state, that strain of right-wing authoritarianism will infect the entire country and our democracy will be permanently wounded. But in order to have their way, they must first crush Val Demings.
