John,
Across New York, as gas prices continue to rise and no end in sight, One-Party rule in Albany is only looking to make matters worse…
This year’s Thanksgiving was already set to be the most expensive in history. But now, not only is the food on the table more expensive - so is the cost of filling up the tank to get to the homes of our friends, family, and loved ones.
Gas prices are nearing the highest cost ever, and politicians in Albany want to raise our gas tax rate even MORE! You read that right: New York elected officials are proposing a gas tax of 55 cents more per gallon, pushing our gas tax rate to a whopping 101.19 cents. That far surpasses the second-highest state, California, that currently sits at 66.98 cents!
To provide immediate relief for everyday New York families, I am calling on Governor Kathy Hochul to take action today by suspending the gas tax for the Thanksgiving weekend, in addition to publicly speaking out to oppose this bill to spike this rate even higher.
