Jack, it’s hard to believe that the 2020 general election was just over a year ago. Just a couple of weeks ago, Maggie went on PBS and talked about her experience during that election.
There were a lot of wins to be celebrated:
- Record turnout despite being in the middle of a raging pandemic.
- Turnout for early voting was stronger than ever.
- The election took place in a safer, more secure environment than ever before.
But there were some serious problems, too:
- Maggie and her election staff faced death threats post-election, all the way through the insurrection on January 6th.
- Post-election conspiracy theories, spurred by the losing presidential candidate, about the election being stolen ran rampant -- and those conspiracies continue today.
While the year anniversary of the 2020 election reminds us to reflect on what’s happened over the past year - we’re looking to the future.
If you contribute $10 or more today, you’ll help us meet our $5,000 blackout deadline to push back against false conspiracy theories and continue advancing free and fair elections in New Mexico. So please, chip in whatever you can today.
