Now that the new lines for IL-06 have been drawn, I’m declaring my run for re-election and this will be my toughest race yet.

My seat was already one of the top targets for national Republicans, and redistricting just made our district a lot more competitive -- with top election forecasters saying IL-06 is now more likely to flip red than ever before.

Republicans only need to flip five seats to take back control of the House -- we can’t let IL-06 be one of them.

If the GOP regains power, they will work tirelessly to rollback any progress we’ve made on combating the root issues of climate change and safeguarding our environment for future generations.

But, know this -- while we campaign in this newly drawn IL-06, we are going to stay focused on the issues that matter. Real solutions for tackling climate change while creating new clean energy jobs.
