What Pramila fought for in the Build Back Better Act will help working people, families, and our communities in so many tangible ways. Here are just some of the highlights we saw in headlines across the country the last few days:
That’s right, the Build Back Better Act guarantees affordable, high-quality childcare that finally limits costs for families. That’s on top of paid family leave and free universal preschool for all three-year-olds and four-year-olds.
Pramila knew bold climate action needed to be in the Build Back Better Act, and it is. This bill is the largest effort to combat climate change in American history and it will launch major new initiatives to fight the climate crisis.
In addition to these transformational policies, Pramila also helped win investments in affordable housing, lower prescription drug costs, an extension of the monthly Child Tax Credit, home and community based care, Medicare expansion, and much more. This will make our economy more equitable for everyday, working people in this country while creating millions of good-paying jobs.
But we know this legislation still faces unprecedented opposition from corporate PACs, Big Pharma, Wall Street, and fossil fuel companies as it heads to the Senate. That’s why it’s so important that we keep our eye on the ball and not let up until the Build Back Better Act is signed into law.
Thousands of you have stepped up during our fight in the House and we’re so grateful. Now, let’s get this over the finish line.
