This month, as Washington and the nation continue to experience record-breaking levels of gun violence, voters cast their ballots for gun responsibility champions. This cycle, the Alliance prioritized candidates with demonstrated commitment to police accountability, investment into community-based violence intervention solutions, and direct connection to communities most impacted by gun violence. Forty-five out of 69 Alliance for Gun Responsibility Victory Fund-endorsed candidates won their seats!

Film: On these Grounds
In 2015, a white police officer in South Carolina pulled a Black teenager from her desk and threw her across the floor. The viral video inspired Vivian Anderson to uproot her life in New York City to move to SC to support the girl and dismantle the system behind the assault.

Honoring our Veterans
In honor of Veterans Day, we raised awareness about the firearm suicide crisis impacting our veteran community. An average of 4,200 veterans die by firearm suicide each year—about 12 every day. There are solutions available to help combat this silent epidemic.

NRA: Caught on Tape
In the aftermath of the mass shooting at Columbine in 1999, the NRA and its consultants discussed whether to hold the gun group's annual meeting in Denver just days later. The conversation makes it clear that instead of thinking about the people directly impacted by the unthinkable tragedy, they were only worried about their reputation and their pocketbooks.

2022 Agenda
We'll be releasing our 2022 legislative agenda soon! Once again, we are headed back to Olympia to fight for commonsense gun safety laws including restricting high-capacity magazines.
