John,

Do you want to hear something that over 70% of Americans agree with? Working families need paid leave.

All caregivers should be able to provide love and care when they are needed without having to contend with their work schedule. We know that investing in paid family leave pays dividends -- to the economy, to our children, and to our families.

It's time for the U.S. to figure out paid leave, like the rest of the world already has.

John, we can't wait any longer -- help us push to demand President Biden and Congress to invest in the future of American families. Sign the petition now >> We need to move fast. Make no mistake: women and children will suffer the most. About half of women report experiencing pain within the first two months following childbirth, and many experience more serious, potentially life-threatening postpartum complications.

I know this all too well: When I was pregnant with my oldest daughter I suffered from seizures so bad that I had to be rushed to the hospital for an emergency Cesarean delivery. I cannot imagine having to return to work just days after I almost lost my life but that is a choice many Americans don't have the luxury to make.

Families have to be able to take time off to care for themselves or their loved ones without fearing for their jobs.

Women of color are more likely than white women to face difficult choices between their caregiving and work responsibilities, because they are more likely to be the primary breadwinners for their families while being paid lower wages than their white counterparts.

We need leaders who will reach across the aisle, working with anyone willing to provide desperately needed relief for the millions of Americans struggling right now.

And supporting paid leave will bring real results to working families right here in CA-25.

So we're going to keep doing everything we can to help get it done, but we can't do it without you. Add your name to our petition calling on Congress to get this done. I hope I can continue to count on your support.
