Our team at the Campaign for Southern Equality is right there with y’all. We’re closing out the books on our Southern Equality Fund grantmaking (having distributed almost $200,000 in grants this year); preparing for our last-of-the-year online convenings of Southern LGBTQ artists and healers; and quickly approaching the 1-year mark of the NC is Ready campaign, which we co-led with Equality NC to pass 16 LGBTQ-inclusive nondiscrimination ordinances in North Carolina. 

But I wanted to be sure that even with so much going on, you have Giving Tuesday on your calendar – a global day of giving to causes like ours. As we wrap up 2021 projects, we’re also looking ahead to 2022, and we know that there are so many opportunities to move LGBTQ equality forward. We also anticipate significant challenges, including an insidious new swath of anti-LGBTQ legislation, specifically bills targeting queer young people in schools.
