For me, the scariest thing that I can imagine this Halloween isn’t a costume: it’s the terrifying reality of the Virginia General Assembly remaining complicit and ineffective if we don’t flip it blue in just a few days.

Look, I work every day to make Richmond a better, safer place for everyone. But there are some things that I need the Virginia General Assembly to partner with me on to get done -- like enacting common-sense gun reform laws -- that they refuse to take any action on. In order to make Richmond the best city it can be, the Virginia General Assembly also needs to be better.

For too long, the Republican-controlled Virginia General Assembly has been bought and paid for by special interest groups like the NRA. It’s time for representatives who will listen to the people and act in the best interests of Virginians in every corner of our state.

I know that if we come together to mobilize our communities and vote on November 5, then we can send a message across Virginia that we’re ready for change.
