Dear John,

As Spencer’s campaign for Mayor of Portland nears the finish line, I am asking you to help us reach our final fundraising goal.

Having served on the Portland City Council with current Mayor Ethan Strimling and Councilor Spencer Thibodeau, I believe that it is time to turn the page from the unnecessary divisiveness and conflict that has marked Ethan Strimling’s term as Mayor.

I have seen first-hand Councilor Thibodeau’s diligence, hard work, and ability to collaborate with City Councilors, City staff, and residents of our City to successfully manage complex public policy issues. 

No other candidate for Mayor has Spencer’s positive relationships with the City Council and knowledge of citywide issues, from rising property taxes to rising sea levels. He can begin working as Mayor on day one.

We have elected two consecutive mayors with no Council experience.  Each had difficulty working collaboratively to move the City forward.  This time we can give someone with Council experience a chance to make the position of Mayor work for all of us.
