U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack has focused on incentive-based climate solutions for food producers, barrier reduction for food access in underserved communities, and food system resiliency. Secretary Vilsack will join Foreign Policy’s third annual Food+ Summit on December 1 and 2 as we gather experts to explore the major issues that impact the global food system.
Our two-day agenda will examine future-focused solutions for the most pressing sustainability challenges in the world of food. What technologies can be implemented to advance resilient agricultural practices? How can sectors collaborate to bolster sustainable fishing practices that promote environmental protection as well as healthy diets? What tangible actions can be taken to move toward sustainability across all aspects of the food system?
Our program also includes insights from the following leaders:
- Inger Andersen, Undersecretary-General, United Nations; Executive Director, U.N. Environment Programme
- Maura Barry Boyle, Senior Deputy Assistant Administrator and Interim Global Water Coordinator, U.S. Agency for International Development
- Maciej Golubiewski, Head of Cabinet of European Commissioner for Agriculture, European Commission
- Rasmus Prehn, Minister for Food, Agriculture, and Fisheries, Denmark
