Join me in one of the most important events for Palestine in America Dear Email, As a Palestinian American Imam, I feel it's my duty to call attention to the atrocities that Israel commits against the Palestinian people daily, not just because I’m Palestinian but because of my role as an Imam as well. American Muslims for Palestine has opened that space for Muslims across the US to articulate our affinity with Palestine and the Palestinian people but to also express our outrage and righteous indignation towards the illegal expanding occupation and Zionist project. Our activism is not limited to when Israel accelerates our dispossession and ethnic cleansing like it did last summer. We are in constant need of strategy, organizing, and action. That is why I’ll be attending the 14th Annual Convention for Palestine in the US this Thanksgiving weekend inshaAllah. We need to stay focused on the path towards liberation. Whenever I think about this wonderful gathering with people from across the US and Canada, I can’t help but think of the time all the prophets of Allah joined the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him in Jerusalem during the miraculous night journey of Al Isra’ and Mi’raj. Or the time the companions of the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him gathered for the first time under the leadership of Omar Ibn Al Khattab in Jerusalem when it was liberated. So, register today and bring your families. Let us enlighten each other and teach our children the importance of our mission to liberate this blessed and noble land. May this gathering be the prelude to a larger gathering in the blessed land of the Prophets, the land of milk and honey, the point of ascension of our beloved Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him, while we breathe the fresh air of justice and liberation around us. |
