Next Tuesday is #GivingTuesday, a day to celebrate and encourage donations to nonprofits and charities you value. It is no coincidence that we celebrate this day on the fourth Tuesday of the month. It culminates a week of gratitude and reflection brought about by the Thanksgiving holiday, also known as the National Day of Mourning to educate the public about Native Americans, followed by the Black Friday / Cyber Monday holiday shopping frenzy that is already underway.
As we give thanks and share love with our friends and families, we’re also grateful for the economic and social justice champions like you who support our work and provide us with the motivation to keep going despite difficult odds.
NCRC provides agenda-setting research, training, insight and advocacy on behalf of under-served communities nationwide. We renovate and build affordable homes for low- and moderate-income families, provide expertise and financial support to housing counselors, and business-building expertise to women entrepreneurs. Our research, investigations and publications on discrimination in lending and housing have prompted policymakers to pursue stronger laws, rules and enforcement to protect consumers and to ensure that the private sector does its part to drive inequality out of the economy.
