Hi John, I've got some big updates for you this month.

First, as you're probably aware, we were able to pass the bipartisan infrastructure bill earlier this month. This historic legislation, just signed into law by President Biden, is a once-in-a-generation investment in our nation. We can now begin the long overdue work of fixing our crumbling roads and bridges, bringing broadband connectivity to every community, providing access to clean drinking water, building out our nation's network of electrical vehicle charging stations, and so much more.

I am proud to have been a part of making this bill the law of the land, but our work isn't done yet. Which brings me to the next update -- passing the budget reconciliation package, also known as the Build Back Better Act. Last week my colleagues and I passed this bill in the House. Now it's time to get it through the Senate.

This is a matter of urgency. We need to make bold, immediate investments in our families, workers, and collective future to meet the moment. That's why I'm urging the Senate to pass the Build Better Act as soon as possible.

Here are just a few of the critical ways that the Build Back Better Act will help Americans:

- Expands Child Care and Universal Pre-K for all 3 and 4-year-olds

- Extends the Child Tax Credit

- Lowers Prescription Drug and Health Care Costs

- Creates a national Paid Family and Medical Leave policy

- Invests in Clean Energy Technologies and Innovation with expanded tax credits

- Supports local Journalism by providing tax incentives to grow and retain staff at local publication

Together, we can urge Congress to pass the Build Back Better Act and do the right thing for our families, our environment, and our future.

Take care,

Suzan DelBene
