The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) recently released 14 short videos with ideas for parents and caregivers to engage with their preschool-aged children.
Illinois’ Kindergarten Individual Development Survey (KIDS) is designed to reflect and advance play-based instruction, which we all know is great for young children. These videos give you the chance to see what that looks like in action, and offer tips to help ensure that children arrive at kindergarten ready to learn and succeed.
Please share these videos with families in your programs to show them what kinds of skills kindergarten teachers look for and how both families and early learning programs together can set our young learners in the right direction.
