. The Build Back Better Act has passed the House! Dear John,
After months of hard work by conservation voters like you, we did it. We helped pass the Build Back Better Act in the U.S. House of Representatives.
This is an exciting moment and a huge step to passing one of the most comprehensive laws to combat climate change in American history. Its passage is a first-step victory for a cleaner, healthier, more prosperous future for all – but we have more work to do to finish the job.
I want to be clear: the Build Back Better Act would not have come this far without you. Your organizing, writing, pressure, and support pulled this bill through the House. But we are not done yet. Your continued support with a generous gift today will help keep the pressure on in the Senate, and help shepherd this bill to the president’s desk for signing. Wisconsinites will see the benefits at home from the Build Back Better Act. From Superior to Milwaukee, this historic legislation will cut emissions, create good-paying union jobs, and invest directly into communities of color too often left behind – all while putting the U.S. on path to cutting our climate pollution in half by 2030.
With Wisconsin's gerrymandered, anti-conservation legislative majority at the state level, the Build Back Better Act is a lifeline for these critical issues – and a lifeline for our health, families, and future.
Thank you for your efforts to bring us to this point. With your support, we will make sure this legislation becomes law and ensure the Build Back Better Act lives up to its promise to confront the climate crisis with its full potential. Thanks for being a conservation voter, Kerry Schumann Executive Director Wisconsin Conservation Voters |
