Friend,
Our nation has come so far since last Thanksgiving.
Thanks to the advent of vaccines, many more Americans will be able to more safely visit with their families this Thanksgiving. Marcelle and I are so thankful to have the opportunity to safely celebrate with our children and grandchildren over a thoughtfully prepared meal this year.
But even as more Americans become vaccinated and our economy begins to recover from the pandemic, I also know that millions of families continue to feel the effects of the pandemic. My heart breaks for the countless families who lost loved ones to COVID-19.
I am also thinking of the most vulnerable among us, many of whom are still out of work and who are relying on the generosity of their neighbors to have food on their table this Thanksgiving.
If you are fortunate enough to have money, goods, or time to spare this Thanksgiving, I'd encourage you to join Marcelle and me in making a donation to your community's food bank. Click here to find your local food bank and learn how to help them this holiday season.
As always, from my family to yours, I hope you have a very happy, safe, and healthy Thanksgiving.
Sincerely,
Patrick Leahy
U.S. Senator
