ONE YEAR OUT FROM 2020!
------------------------------------------------------------

**
Sunday, November 3rd, marks the one-year countdown to the 2020 election. The Florida Democratic Party has designated it as a Day of Action. The Democrats of Indian River are asking you to go out of your way this week to ask your family, friends, and co-workers if they are registered to vote and vote by mail. Call them. Stop by their home. Chat them up at the water cooler. Take time before you tee off at the golf course. Encourage them to participate in our civic duty.

Our office will happily register new voters. We are located at 2345 14th Avenue, Suite 7 in Vero Beach. You can call us, as well, at 772.226.5267. If your circle of friends and family are registered to vote but are not signed up for Vote by Mail, please tell them to call the Supervisor of Elections to request Vote by Mail ballots at 772.226.3440. Or, tell them to visit: www.VoteIndianRiver.com ([link removed]) and select the tab to Vote by Mail. 2020 will be the election of your lifetime. Join us. Be part of the solution.

------------------------------------------------------------

** WHY VOTE BY MAIL?
------------------------------------------------------------

**
The statistics show that people are more likely to Vote By Mail compared to voting at the polls. Why should you encourage people to Vote By Mail? Here are some excellent arguments to help you make your case.

------------------------------------------------------------

** PROTECT YOUR VOTE
------------------------------------------------------------
* Vote by Mail ballots are counted FIRST and can be tracked online.
* Last minute travel, illness, ride availability, inclement weather will not be impediments.
* Vote by Mail ballots are mailed 30 days in advance; plenty of time to research the candidates, issues and amendments.
* You don’t need an ID to Vote by Mail.
* You can call or check online to make sure your ballot was received by your Supervisor of Elections.
* Your ballot will not be returned for insufficient postage. The Post Office must take your ballot with or without a stamp.
* If you decide to vote at the polls, just take your VBM ballot with you.
* Mail it.
* A drop box will be located at all three early voting sites in Indian River: the Main Library in Vero, the Sebastian City Hall and the Office of Supervisor of Elections on 43rd Ave.
* You can drop your ballot in the Ballot Box outside the Supervisor of Elections building any day, any time until Election Day.

** DEMOCRATS BOOTH – HELP NEEDED
------------------------------------------------------------

**
We are looking for a team of individuals who are willing to take on the task of managing our booth (set up, take down, training volunteers). As we head into 2020, it is vital that the Democrats have a presence at community events. Since this is such an important job, and time commitment, we would like to have a team of volunteers in charge, as opposed to one or two people. If you are interested in volunteering as part of the team, please email Stacey at

The Downtown Friday in November is the day after Thanksgiving and the Democrats will not be having a booth in November. There is no Downtown Friday in December. Let’s greet 2020 with a strong booth presence!

------------------------------------------------------------

** FELLSMERE CHILDREN IN NEED
------------------------------------------------------------

**
The Fellsmere community is seeking Christmas donations for children ages 11 to 18. These children are now excluded from the Toys for Tots program due to their age. If you are able and willing, the office will be accepting gifts or gift cards for these kids through the month of November. Please bring any donations to Stacey at the Democrats of Indian River Headquarters, 2345 14^th Ave., Vero Beach, 32960.
