Sexual violence is never acceptable. No excuses. No exceptions.
But across the world, inadequate laws and biased attitudes help society to explain away sexual violence, to justify it, to blame the victim, and to sweep it under the rug.
We need a new conversation. Let’s work together to change hearts, minds, and attitudes that shape the cultural understanding around these crimes. And let’s use that new understanding to change laws and practices to show that sexual violence is unacceptable. No excuses. No exceptions.

This Thursday is the UN International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and the beginning of the 16 Days of Activism to End Gender-Based Violence.
