Judicial Watch Warns 14 Counties in Five States to
Clean Voter Registration Lists or Face Federal Lawsuits
The NVRA requires states to
“conduct a general program that makes a reasonable effort to remove”
from the official voter rolls “the names of ineligible voters” who have
died or changed residence. Among other things, the NVRA requires
registrations to be cancelled when voters fail to respond to address
confirmation notices and then fail to vote in the next two general federal
elections. In 2018, the Supreme Court confirmed that such removals are
mandatory (Husted v. A. Philip Randolph Inst., 138 S. Ct. 1833, 1841-42
(2018)).

Biden Administration Invests $66.5 Mil to “Strengthen
Vaccine Confidence” Among Minorities
In the next few months the Biden
administration is doling out $66.5 million to community organizations and
“minority-serving institutions” that will help “strengthen vaccine
confidence” among racial and ethnic minority groups as well as
underserved communities. The allocation is part of a broader, $143.5
million initiative launched by the Department of Health and Human Services
(HHS) this month to “address barriers to COVID-19 vaccination.” Under
the plan an HHS offshoot called Health Resources and Services
Administration that aims to “achieve health equity” will keep
disbursing funds throughout the fiscal year to expand “community-based
efforts” to vaccinate minorities. “We have seen great progress in
vaccination rates in recent months, but we know our work isn’t done in
addressing misinformation and ensuring equitable access in underserved
communities,” HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra said.

Sheriff Sued for Reporting Illegal Alien Criminals to
ICE
In a distressing sign of the
times, the official elected to enforce the law in a major U.S. County is
being sued for transferring illegal immigrant criminals to federal
authorities. Collaborating with the feds—rather than releasing illegal
alien offenders back into the community—compounds racial disparities in
the policing, immigration, and criminal justice systems, in which black and
Latinx communities are disproportionately targeted for arrest, detention,
and deportation. At least that is what the leftist civil rights group that
filed the lawsuit this week claims. The scary part is that the local law
enforcement agency will probably lose the legal battle because the entire
state is a sanctuary for illegal immigrants and official measures have been
enacted to protect the undocumented from deportation.

Delaware trips cost taxpayers about $3M in Secret Service alone
The New York Post
“The
costs of presidential travel and security is of obvious public interest,”
said Tom Fitton, the president of Judicial Watch, which acquired the
records under the Freedom of Information Act.
Fitton noted that the records are incomplete and said “it is frustrating
that after years of litigation through two presidential administrations,
the Secret Service and Air Force are still stonewalling the costs of
presidential travel.”
