Congratulations to Jody for correctly identifying the call of the Yellow-bellied Sapsucker (Sphyrapicus varius)! A winter visitor to our area, their distinct drumming and mewing calls can often be heard in and around parks and neighborhoods. They will occasionally visit suet feeders during inclement weather.
