News and Updates

Two sets of Wisconsin parents are suing the Kettle Moraine School District (KMSD) for a policy that facilitates and “affirms” a minor student’s gender transition at school, even over the parents’ objection. The Kettle Moraine School District’s policy violates parents’ constitutional rights to raise their children by taking a major, controversial, and potentially life-altering decision out of parents’ hands. The lawsuit was filed in Waukesha County Circuit Court by WILL and Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF).

A new post from WILL Research Director, Will Flanders, examines the results of Wisconsin's new state report cards. The results may paint a rosy picture in the headlines, but the data is deeply troubling.

Jefferson County Circuit Court, Judge Bennett J. Brantmeier, issued a summary judgment decision in Hunter Nation v. DNR, a lawsuit brought by WILL in February 2021, that the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) decision to not immediately establish a hunting and trapping season for wolves in 2021 violated state statute and the state constitutional right to hunt.

The Associate Counsel will work closely with the litigation team and the Director of Education Policy in researching and litigating a wide range of K-12 education issues, primarily in Wisconsin, to empower parents, expand educational options and hold government accountable.
