Dear Friend, When I read about the FBI’s predawn raid of Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe’s apartment, I went numb with outrage—and fear. O’Keefe told Fox News that the FBI handcuffed him and threw him into the hallway, partially clothed, in front of his neighbors. They confiscated his phone and raided his apartment. It’s a harsh pattern of abuse, weaponizing the FBI against political enemies. Like concerned parents at school board meetings. And many more. It sounds more like a police state than America. I’m married to Congressman Jeff Fortenberry, and I can still feel the fear I felt as FBI agents interrogated my husband in our living room. And then they charged him, my good, conservative, Nebraska husband, with fake crimes.

O’Keefe said the process is the punishment. I totally get it. We are living it. Every time there’s a shady incident involving the FBI, I’m shocked. I probably shouldn’t be, but I am. I know great FBI agents. That’s why the ones who came to our house were able to deceive us. We hadn’t done anything wrong. Jeff was trying to help them. If the FBI can target journalists, and well-respected members of Congress like Jeff, and school parents...they can and will target ANY American. I’m writing today to ask you, as a friend who cares deeply about America, to help Jeff fight these false charges and defeat Biden’s politicized FBI and DOJ.
