John,
As a politically active American, you’ve probably heard of “infrastructure week.”
Most likely, it was brought up somewhat jokingly, as year after year, “infrastructure week” has come and gone in Congress without any real significant investment. In 2019, the New York Times even wrote, “At this point in the Trump presidency, 'Infrastructure Week' is less a date on the calendar than it is a 'Groundhog Day'-style fever dream doomed to be repeated.”
This year, we changed that. Thanks to the Democratic House Majority’s passage of a historic and bipartisan $1 trillion investment in our nationwide infrastructure, “infrastructure week” this year was not simply a repetition of the same debates we’ve had in years past.
My Democratic colleagues and I ran on the promise of historic investment in our roads, bridges, broadband, and utility systems. And now, Democrats have delivered.
Here in California, we are set to receive $45.5 billion in federal investments in our infrastructure to improve the safety of our roads and bridges, upgrade our water and utility systems, and fight climate change.
This never would have happened without the Democratic House majority that we fought so hard to secure. In fact, only thirteen Republicans voted for the passage of this bill — out of the entire Republican House caucus.
With only five seats standing between Republicans and the House majority, it is essential that we protect the Democratic majority in the House so that we can continue to make progress.
Will you contribute today to protect our Democratic majority and ensure that we can continue to build upon this progress for years to come?

The passage of this bill shows what we can do with Democrats leading the way.
