John, Declaring your candidacy is never easy. Neither is campaigning.
But our party and our country need conservatives to step up.
I’m not talking about just winning back the House and the Senate. I’m talking about the importance of expanding the diversity of our party at all levels of government – federal, state, and local.
We need conservative candidates from all races, genders, and backgrounds to run for office. We need to show America that there is a majority of individuals who believe that America is good, our freedoms are always worth defending, and conservative policies are the best solution to lift up all Americans. We need candidates to spread the message that conservative solutions make it easier to start a business, get a job, raise a family and have the best shot at the best life.
The good news is, we’re on the right track. Just a few weeks ago, Virginia elected Glenn Youngkin as governor, Winsome Sears as the first female African American lieutenant governor, and Jason Miyares as the first Latino attorney general – all strong conservatives.
Expanding our party will not be an easy task. And it’s even harder when the media does its best to distract from conservative policies and focus on shallow topics.
I know this firsthand from my first race in 2004. I ran for a seat in the state House of Representatives against a 30-year incumbent. At the time, I was an accountant and small businesswoman who saw how hard it was to make a dollar and how easy it was for the government to take it away.
No one thought I could win. But the people of the Palmetto State were hungry for something different, someone outside the good ol’ boys club. They proved it by putting their trust in me as their first Indian American state legislator, and a couple years later, the first female and minority governor of South Carolina.
People came to know my name. More importantly, they knew the time had come for conservative solutions.
Conservative solutions tap into the ingenuity of Americans. They fight to uphold the core values enshrined in our Constitution, and they fight for economic independence and individual liberties.
They uphold the belief that parents should have more say in their children’s education and that Americans should be trusted to keep more of their hard-earned money instead of the government spending it on their behalf.
Conservative solutions uphold the idea that no matter our race or gender, we the people – not the government – should have the liberty to make our own decisions without the government overstepping in our lives.
We must never stop sharing our message, lifting up other conservatives, and fighting for the principles we hold dear.
Thank you in advance for your generous support.
My very best, Nikki R. Haley
EXCLUSIVE MESSAGE FROM NIKKI HALEY:
I’m focused on helping Republicans win the next election and I want YOU to play an important part. This is a great opportunity to support leaders who believe America is inherently good, and who understand that the Democrats' far-left policies undermine our freedoms and American values.
Please help me fight back against the Democrats and their radical agenda. We can only defeat them if we stand united.
