John,
We did it!!! The House passed the Build Back Better budget, which includes $150 billion for home and community based services!
Caregivers, people with disabilities, and women of color have mobilized, advocated, organized and voted to help make this historic moment of progress possible.
Friday’s vote brings us one step closer to realizing a future where our country’s home care workers—the majority of whom are women of color—receive a family-sustaining wage, and those who need care—including veterans, older people and people with disabilities—can receive quality, affordable care at home.
So, what’s next? We’re hosting a call on Monday to celebrate this victory and talk about the work that still needs to be done, and we’d love for you to join us.
The call will be livestreamed on Facebook and YouTube — please click on either of those links for a reminder when we go live on Monday.
