John— I want to update you on our October fundraising goals. We're just $4540 short of our midnight deadline! Unlike other campaign fundraising emails you might get, that isn’t a made-up number meant to create a false sense of urgency - it reflects our actual need.
Achieving this goal will allow us to make the hires we need to grow our team in November, and open our campaign HQ. We’ve identified the staff and the office location, and we just need the funds to get started.
One of my primary opponents has raised a lot of money from corporate lobbyists, and another (who is a millionaire business owner) even wrote his campaign a $1 million check! And we all know the Republican incumbent, Joni Ernst, is bankrolled by dozens of corporate PACs and corporate lobbyists.
These people have lots of money in their campaign war chests, but we have what they don’t: you. That’s why we don’t take any corporate PAC or corporate lobbyist money. We’re here for YOU, not corporations, and that’s how I intend to lead in the Senate, too.
