As the holiday season begins, I want to provide you with a toolkit for safe holiday shopping. In order to be of assistance, I’ve worked with the Federal Trade Commission, Better Business Bureau and the Nebraska Attorney General’s office to develop a holiday shopping toolkit.
- The Federal Trade Commission offers great insights on consumer protection, online shopping, avoiding scams this holiday season, and much more! Please look through some of these online resources to best protect yourself this year.
- The Better Business Bureau provides a variety of Scam Studies and Holiday Tips to give consumers a more in-depth understanding of how various scams work. The holiday season is a busy time for scammers which makes it important to familiarize yourself with the various types of scams going around.
- Finally, the Nebraska Attorney General’s Office provides resources to protect yourself, file consumer complaints, and report scams. The Consumer Affairs Response Team is available to help Nebraskans Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm: 402-471-2682 or 1-800-727-6432 Toll-Free.
