My name is Shawn Collins. I’m a conservative Republican, an Afghanistan combat veteran, and an active Navy reservist. I’m running for Congress because we have a lack of leadership in America, and I need your help.

You see, while I was serving in Afghanistan, my mission was to help protect one of the Taliban’s most wanted targets. While on that mission, I survived two assassination attempts – a car bomb and a suicide bomb.

In those moments, I couldn’t have possibly imagined that America would so callously and incompetently surrender the war on terror. Joe Biden has sentenced thousands of Afghans who were our friends and allies to death. He clearly never learned the most important commitment our service members make: we do not leave men or women behind.

That’s why we must come together to elect more conservative veterans to Congress who will champion America and defend our service members.

And I’m emailing you today because, just like I relied on my fellow soldiers in Afghanistan when those explosions went off, I need to rely on you now. Can I count on you to help?

That brings me to my opponent, Katie Porter. You may know Porter as the Elizabeth Warren protege famous for her condescending questions to cabinet secretaries and CEOs. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez even called her the “funniest member of Congress” as a result of her partisan stunts.

But what you may not know is that Porter cheered on Joe Biden as he withdrew from Afghanistan, resulting in the deaths of U.S. service members.

There’s nothing funny about that.

I have been a fighter my whole life. I grew up in a broken home in a rough neighborhood and had to fend for myself as a child. Living in eight different homes, including sleeping on my uncle’s living room floor, is an important reminder that anything is possible when you embrace American values.
