In 2020, Democrats across the country made a promise. We were going to deliver for working families by passing transformative legislation that would:

• Support the care economy by funding universal preschool and home- and community-based services;
• Invest in education, workforce development and affordable housing;
• Lower healthcare costs by reducing prescription drug prices and negotiating lower drug costs for seniors;
• Fight climate change by lowering emissions and creating good-paying jobs.

And, as of Friday, the House kept that promise by passing the Build Back Better Act.

This is a historic, once-in-a-generation investment in working families, and I couldn't be prouder of it. And it would be all of these things if it stood on its own -- but it doesn't.

Before we passed Build Back Better, we passed a massive investment in roads, bridges, airports, public transportation, clean water, broadband access, green technology, and more as a part of the infrastructure framework. And before that, we passed the American Rescue Plan, which got hundreds of millions of shots in arms, provided millions with rent and mortgage relief, supported small businesses, and slashed childhood poverty.

In the course of 11 months, Democrats just reshaped America. We made three historic, generational investments in the middle-class. And we did it after Republicans failed for years to do the same.

This is a massive win for the American people, but I want to make sure you know how much you own this win. We could not have passed any of this legislation if it weren't for the calls you made, the doors you knocked, and the work you did to support Democrats across the country. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for fighting alongside us as hard as you did.

While today we're going to celebrate this win, tomorrow we have to get back to work. With midterms less than a year away, there's no time to waste. If you'd like to help us hold the House, I'd appreciate it.
