Texas voters have soured on Greg Abbott

Data journalist Nate Silver has released a new polling analysis of the Texas Governor’s race -- and it’s findings are more encouraging than many expected:

As the article points out, voters disapprove of Abbott’s handling of the pandemic, and the administration’s response to the winter storms in February that caused the state’s power grid to fail.
Adding to the mess, Abbott passed a draconian statewide abortion ban and has allowed the concealed carry of handguns without a permit.
Abbott is also underwater with independents -- 57% disapprove of his job performance.
It’s clear that the race for Texas Governor will be an uphill climb for whichever Democrat wins the nomination, but flipping Texas is possible -- and we’re ready to fight to make that happen.
