** Fighting For a Brighter Media Future
------------------------------------------------------------

============================================================

Dear FAIR Friends,

It’s been another year fraught with disinformation and uncertainty—and yet another year FAIR has worked to bolster the truth and fight corporate news bias. This year, we celebrated our 35th anniversary, a true milestone for a small, progressive organization. For years, our donors have allowed us to continue our void-filling work.

** Now we’re asking for your continued support.
Help us raise $65,000 by January 1. ([link removed])

FAIR’s year-end fundraiser is the most crucial drive we have all year. We work to keep our fundraising pushes to a minimum, and this drive will be our last until the spring. Our fundraising money goes straight to FAIR’s operating costs, and our year-end appeal makes or breaks our ability to continue doing the work our media activists depend on.

It’s because of you that we can fairly compensate writers and interns; pay our office rent; and keep our website stocked with informative analyses and decades of archived material.

FAIR is steadfast in continuing our work, because we believe in a future where the public is informed and in control—not at the mercy of war-mongering politicians, climate-destroying corporations or a handful of billionaires. When you donate, you’re directly helping this goal become a reality.

We believe it is imperative that these stories are told:
* Deathly Silence: Journalists Who Mocked Assange Have Nothing to Say About CIA Plans to Kill Him
* Media’s Anti-‘Woke’ Mania Moves Social Justice to the Fringe
* Are Nicaraguan Migrants Escaping ‘Repression’—or Economic Sanctions?
* ‘OAN Would Not and Could Not Exist Without AT&T’s Blessing’
* ACTION ALERT: The New Climate Denial: Don’t Worry, Do Nothing

We need you to help pay for the next FAIR article. To get CounterSpin out to the many independent stations across North America that love the show, but can only afford to cover part of the cost. To make sure our activists can keep raising hell when Big Media distort the news.

** We need your support to continue our work in 2022. ([link removed])

In return for your support, we’re offering two thank-you gifts. The first is FAIR’s special edition 35th anniversary T-shirt, featuring a monopoly-busting design by Kim Balthazar-Fetsko that appeared on the October 2011 issue of Extra!. Shirts are union-made in the US.

The other is a tote bag, US-made from eco-friendly material by a licensee/affiliate with the Fair Labor Association. On one side is FAIR’s logo. The other side reads, “Corporate news: Rich people paying rich people to tell middle-class people to blame poor people.” This durable and handy tote allows you to take FAIR’s message with you wherever you go.
An average of just over 2% of our email subscribers donate to our appeals—imagine what we could accomplish if we upped our engagement this year by just one percentage point!

** Donate what you can today to give Big Media a hard time this year! ([link removed])

Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference. Every donation plays a role in ensuring the future of FAIR.

We don’t accept funds from corporations or government grants, because we don’t work in their interest. We work in yours.

Thank you so much for being part of the FAIR family.

Sincerely,

Olivia Riggio, Janine Jackson, Julie Hollar & Jim Naureckas
And our interns, Dorothy Poucher, Jasmine Watson & Adam Weintraub

FAIR is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and your donation is tax-deductible.
