Hi folks!
I’m Jack Williams, Lindsey’s dad and #1 fan. Maybe you saw my truck in 2018. In 2018, every weekend, I drove five hours each way from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area to Pittsburgh every weekend to knock on doors for my daughter’s first State Senate election. While the pandemic has made connecting with you more challenging this year, I’m reaching out today to take a few things off of Lindsey’s plate – and to brag about my incredible daughter.
As a retired 40-year member of Operating Engineers Local 542, I instilled what union values are to my daughters. So imagine just how proud my wife Nancy and I were to watch Lindsey in her first term – from day one, fiercely advocating for working families across our state, the right to unionize and demand dignity, and the expansion of job and education opportunities that allow all Pennsylvanians to thrive.
My daughter Lindsey is a fighter. When she worked as a lawyer to advocate for whistleblowers, she was illegally fired after attempting to form a union with her coworkers. Instead of signing management’s gag order, she successfully fought her case in front of the National Labor Relations Board. Then, she brought her skills to help the Teamsters strike for higher wages and worked with the Pittsburgh teachers union to fight for a quality education for every child.
When Lindsey ran for State Senate in 2018, she had to step up and fight again. She won her seat by 793 votes, fair and square, but her opponents fought to invalidate the election results with false claims and grandstanding. Once again, Lindsey won the battle – with fierce determination, the truth, and with all of us on her side.
Listen, friends, Lindsey’s opponents are going to pull a stunt like this again. They don’t like seeing a tenacious, brilliant, progressive woman hold a seat in the Senate – so we have to be ready for anything they throw at us. So I have to ask: Will you chip in any amount you can afford to stand with Lindsey and defend her seat in Harrisburg? If you’ve saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately. The working families of Pennsylvania need a fighter. There is only one candidate qualified to take on the challenge, and it’s Lindsey Williams.
And I’d say that even if I wasn’t her dad.
Together, we can get Lindsey back to Harrisburg for a second term!
