Dear John,
For human and nonhuman beings alike, rights are based on fundamental values and principles of justice such as liberty and equality. The fight for nonhuman rights is not only about our clients’ freedom; “in an age of mass extinction and climate catastrophe,” writes Jill Lepore in The Atlantic, “the questions it raises, about the relationship between humans, animals, and the natural world, concern the future of life on Earth, questions that much existing law is catastrophically ill-equipped to address.”
Please save the date and support the NhRP this Giving Tuesday, November 30th if, like us, you envision a future in which nonhuman rights are protected alongside human rights. Here are a few ways you can support us this Giving Tuesday:
- Join in on this global day of giving and make a donation to the NhRP on November 30th! Those who donate $1000 and over on Giving Tuesday will receive a signed copy of NhRP Founder and President Steven M. Wise’s book Rattling the Cage.
- Share our Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn posts to remind your network to save the date.
- Share our #GivingTuesday event page to spread our message across your network.
- Create your own Giving Tuesday fundraiser on Facebook or Give Lively and share with your friends and family your story about why the NhRP’s work is meaningful and important to you.
In addition, please join us live on Zoom on Tuesday, November 30th at 12 p.m. PT/ 3 p.m. ET when NhRP President Steven M. Wise, NhRP Director of Government Relations and Campaigns Courtney Fern, and I will recap the year’s accomplishments. Please click here for details and registration.
We look forward to seeing you there!
