Free and fair elections are the cornerstone of our democracy and yet over
the years we have seen the right to vote degraded and the power of our
voices drowned out by partisan gerrymandering.

Right now, simply by redrawing the congressional maps, Republicans are
closer to flipping the five seats they need to take the House in 2022.

They hope that their undemocratic actions will get them back in power.

But all of that can change with the passage of the For the People Act.

The For the People Act wouldn't just end the ability of politicians to
pick their own voters, it would bring about an equitable voting system
where every voice is heard, every voter has access, and every vote counts.

Republicans are systematically working in states across America to give
themselves a majority of legislative seats with a minority of votes.

They know that if voters can’t change their representatives, they can’t
change the system.

By establishing independent redistricting commissions, the For the People
Act would end their system of hyper-partisan gerrymandering and help
America change course through fundamentally transforming our elections.

The health of our democracy depends on the right to the vote and there’s
nothing democratic about politicians drawing their own congressional
district lines.
