On Tuesday, November 23, the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) and Organization of American States (OAS) will hold a virtual event at 9 a.m. ET for the launch of a new report from the Migration Policy Institute (MPI), the WFP, and the Civic Data Design Lab at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) on the factors that drive people in El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras to consider and decide to migrate.

Key findings and recommendations from "Chartering a New Regional Course of Action: The Complex Motivations and Costs of Central American Migration" will be presented at the event. The report also explores the costs and economic implications of migration for households and communities in the region and offers key recommendations to address the root causes of migration.

The research project was supported by the OAS and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

Translation in English and Spanish will be offered.
